My name is Francine B. Gibbs. I grew up in Central Valley, CA not loving my name. I always thought it was an “old lady” name and for so long went by Franny. My close friends + family still call me Franny to this day but when I meet someone knew I proudly introduce myself as Francine. I have grown to love my name, and my full name more so. Francine Brigida Murillo, now Gibbs. My middle name comes from my sweet abuelita and my now married name, Gibbs I took on after marrying my best friend and marrying into an incredible family who welcomed me with open arms since day one.
When I was 17 I bought my first camera with my first paycheck from my first job working at Five Guys. It was a little Canon Rebel t6 and she served me well for YEARS. This was in the day where your Instagram aesthetic had to be Tumblr worthy and I was determined, but along the way I found a passion for capturing people. I grew my skills from learning how to pose people to prompting that leads to organic smiles to actively learning how to capture the moment and people in their true element. I am eight years in and find sparks of joy in this every time I pickup my camera. My heart is in serving and building community and through photography I’ve been able to do both and I am deeply grateful for that.
